In a March 2025 article, first published in Policy Options, former ECSA-C President Frédéric Mérand proposed that Canada should consider an application for membership in the European Union (EU). In this forum, 15 ECSA-C member respond to Professor Mérand’s article. Is there merit in considering Canada’s EU membership? Would it even be possible? What would be the potential benefits and drawbacks?
