Dr. Achim Hurrelmann on the European Community Studies Association in Canada (ECSA-C)
Dr. Achim Hurrelmann is Associate Professor of Political Science and former Director of the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies (EURUS) at Carleton University. He holds the Jean Monnet Chair “Democracy in the European Union” and serves as Associate Director of the Centre for European Studies (CES), Carleton’s EU Centre of Excellence. He is an elected member of the management board of the European Community Association-Canada (ECSA-C). Dr. Hurrelmann's research focuses on the politics of the European Union, with a particular emphasis on questions of democracy and legitimacy in the EU, multilevel governance, and European integration theory. His work has appeared in journals such as Political Studies, European Political Science Review, European Journal of Political Research, West European Politics.
