His interests include political discourses about European integration (in parliaments, the media, and among citizens), democracy and legitimacy in the EU, as well as Canada-Europe relations.

Lyubov Zhyznomirska
Saint Mary's University
Lyubov Zhyznomirska an assistant professor in the Department of Political Science at St. Mary’s University. She was a Jean Monnet Fellow at Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies, European University Institute, in Florence, Italy.
Lyubov Zhyznomirska is interested in the European Union’s foreign relations in general and migration relations in particular with its eastern neighbours – specifically, with Russia and Ukraine. She critically investigates the impact of the EU’s immigration and asylum policies on Ukraine and Russia, policy- and politics-wise.

Laurie Beaudonnet

Laurie Beaudonnet is an Associate Professor at the University of Montreal and Co-Director of the Jean Monnet Center Montreal. Her research interests include: Comparative politics, European integration, political behavior, elections, multi-level governance, qualitative and quantitative methods.

Valerie D'Erman
University of Victoria
Valerie D’Erman is a a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Victoria in the Department of Political Science. She has published in International Politics, the Journal of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and contributed to a co-authored book titled “Protecting Our Ports: Domestic and International Politics of Containerized Freight Security,” in 2010 with Ashgate Press.

Heather MacRae
York University
Heather MacRae is the past president of the European Community Studies Association Canada (ECSA-C) 2018-2021. She is Associate Professor in the Department of Politics at York University. In addition, she was co-editor of the Journal of Common Market Studies (JCMS) from 2017-2027. Her research interests include Europeanization, the politics of the EU, gender regimes and German politics. Dr. MacRae’s current research looks at the role of crises in the EU and its impact on gender and policy making.

Willem Maas
York University
Willem Maas is Jean Monnet Chair and Professor of Political Science, Public & International Affairs, and Socio-Legal Studies at York University. He chaired Glendon Political Science for three and a half years and Glendon Faculty Council for four. Professor Maas co-founded APSA’s Migration and Citizenship section and writes on EU and multilevel citizenship, migration, borders, and politics focusing on Europe and North America.

Crina Viju-Miljusevic
Carleton University
Crina Viju-Miljusevic is an Associate Professor and currently the Director of the Institute of European, Russian and Eurasian Studies at Carleton University. She is also the Associate Director of the Centre for European Studies at Carleton University. Her research interests include European economic integration, EU trade policy, economies in transition and EU enlargement.
