The European Community Studies Association has developed into the leading professional association for the study of Europe in Canada. ECSA-C seeks to promote the study and understanding of the European Union and European affairs at a time at which the process of European integration has generated momentous socio-economic and political changes.

This year the ECSA-C invites scholars to come to Victoria, one of the most beautiful cities in Canada, to attend the ECSA-C Biennial Conference “What Kind of Europe? Multiculturalism, Migration, Political Community and Lessons from Canada”. Together with young scholars that will participate in the ECSA-C Young Researchers Network Conference, on May 18th 2006, we hope to stimulate scholarly exchange and debates in the field of European Studies.

The University of Victoria is pleased to support the activities of ECSA-C with its EUCAnet project (the electronic Who’s Who in the field of European Studies in Canada) and hosting the event at the prestigious Empress Hotel.
